Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Let’s Make Things Inclusive for Everyone

On May 16th, we celebrate the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). It’s a chance to make things easier for everyone, especially by following the rules in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

The AODA is a law in Ontario that helps people with disabilities. It’s about removing things that make life hard for some people to join in fully.

What does this mean?

This means making buildings easier for people with disabilities to move around in and making sure websites and digital things are easy for everyone to use, no matter their disability. Our goal is to have a fully inclusive Ontario by 2025.

GAAD is an important day to talk about AODA and why it’s crucial. During GAAD, we talk about AODA rules and encourage all businesses and groups to follow them. We hope everyone can help make both physical and online spaces easy for everyone to use.

For businesses, following the AODA isn’t just about obeying rules; it’s about doing what’s right and making sure everyone can be included!

It’s important to keep working on making things easier for everyone, not just in Ontario, but everywhere. By supporting GAAD, we’re taking steps towards a future where everyone can be included.

If you want to make sure your company follows the AODA rules, you can talk to us. We can help you check if you’re doing things correctly and make sure your digital spaces are easy for everyone to use.

Let’s all work together to make sure everyone can be included, not just on GAAD, but every day!
